Hold that line, hold ‘em fast,
We’ll reach victory at last
We’re behind you, keep fighting for State
Rise up to the fray and let your colors wave,
Shout out for dear old NC State. GO STATE!
And where-e’er we go,
we’ll let the whole world know,
We’re behind you, keep fighting for State.
(Fight Song)

We’re the Red and White from State
And we know we are the best.
A hand behind our back,
We can take on all the rest.
Come over the hill, Caroline.
Devils and Deacs stand in line.
The Red and White from NC State.
GO STATE!!
(The Red and White Song)

For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
Rudyard Kipling

Where the winds of Dixie softly blow o’er the fields of Caroline,
There stands ever cherished, NC State, as thy honored shrine
So lift your voices! Loudly sing from hill to oceanside!
Our hearts ever hold you, NC State in the folds of our love and pride.
(Alma Mater)

Dreams come true at NC State. Dreams become reality at NC State. Are you a dreamer? Do you have dreams that you can make come true? Can you accept that challenge? I think you can.
Coach Jim Valvano

To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.
Coach Jim Valvano

Don’t give up, don’t ever give up.
Coach Jim Valvano

When life kicks you, let it kick you forward.

You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were two of us in the wolf pack… I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas…

While losing is no fun, this game may well signal the rebirth of State basketball, and we don’t mean the risk-averse actuarial approach of Sendek but rather the real thing: the passion, the electric atmosphere, the dramatic rush of red up and down the court. At its best, State basketball is a combination between a carnival and a passion play and is extraordinarily compelling.

They’ve got great fans. Seriously, I wish we could take a couple of them over to the Dean Smith Center and put a Carolina blue jersey on them. They’re loud; they’re supportive.
Ademola Okulaja (after the game in Reynolds)

State has always been home to me, and I guess it probably always will be. There’s never been a day when I didn’t love this school.
Buddy Green (NCSU Defensive Coordinator)

I felt like they gave up on my brother. N.C. State didn’t. North Carolina didn’t recruit me at all, and I sort of took that personally, too. … Every time I think about that, it helps me dislike them even more. My brother feels the same way. We just despise UNC.
Torry Holt

How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal and you have to be willing to work for it.
